How BeehiveText handles information
Who we are
BeehiveText is a text-messaging service for political committees and advocacy organizations, operated by Beehive Text, LLC, Park City, Utah. Contact: [email protected].
Information from organizations that apply or become clients
When an organization applies we collect what the application asks for: the committee's legal name, EIN, address, website and public filing; the name, title, email and mobile number of one authorized person; a description of the messaging program; and where the organization's phone numbers come from. If a client connects its own Twilio account we may receive an API key or token. Those credentials are encrypted at rest and decrypted only when we set up or service the client's program. We use this information to register the client's program with the carriers and their registries, to operate the service, to invoice, and to comply with law.
Information about people who receive our clients' messages
Our clients upload contact lists and collect opt-ins for their own programs. We process that information only on the client's instructions to send the client's messages, record delivery, replies and opt-outs, and demonstrate consent. Each client is responsible for having consent to text the people on its lists.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell, rent or trade contact lists, and we do not use one client's list for any other client or for ourselves.
To stop receiving a client's messages, reply STOP to any of them. Reply HELP for the client's contact information.
Service providers
Messages are transmitted by Twilio Inc., a telecommunications platform bound by contract to use the data only to deliver our clients' messages. Our website and client portals are served through Cloudflare. Registration information is shared with The Campaign Registry, Campaign Verify and the mobile carriers as required to register a political messaging program.
Website visitors
Our web servers and Cloudflare record routine technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited to keep the site secure and working. We do not run advertising trackers.
Retention and security
Client data is stored on systems we control in the United States, encrypted in transit, with credentials encrypted at rest. We keep opt-in and opt-out records as long as carrier and legal requirements demand, and we return or delete a client's lists on request when a program ends, except that opt-out records are kept so they remain honored.
Children
Our services are not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
